Tackling Nutrition Insecurity On College Campuses

Nutrition access and education are building blocks for strong communities. As America’s #1 high protein yogurt brand, Oikos knows how hard it can be to get strong, and that it’s even more challenging without access to quality nutrition. That’s why Oikos has set out to help close nutrition gaps where they exist.

Multiple barriers such as rising costs, insufficient resources and overall lack of access to nutrient dense foods have left many U.S. communities nutrition insecure. College communities are disproportionately impacted, with almost one fourth of college students experiencing food insecurity.* Student athletes are no exception.

The Oikos Nutrition Sponsorship Program supports college communities with an added focus on student athletes, by increasing nutrition access and providing nutrition education where support is needed.

DOUG WILLIAMS

PRO FOOTBALL CHAMPION & SENIOR ADVISOR TO WASHINGTON'S FOOTBALL TEAM

“As a former student athlete and proud Grambling State alumnus, I know the important role proper nutrition plays in helping individuals reach their full potential. For many college students – even student athletes – nutrition insecurity creates significant barriers to success. I deeply value the progress being made through the OIKOS Nutrition Sponsorship Program. It’s a meaningful step toward equipping the next generation with the education and resources they need to thrive.”

The Oikos Nutrition Sponsorship Program helps to power college communities by:

Increasing Nutrition Access

We’re supplying university athletic departments and student food pantries with product donations and funding to increase the amount of healthy, high-protein snack options available on campus.

Providing Nutrition Education

We’re hosting customized education sessions on campus in collaboration with registered dieticians, featuring modules that inspire healthy eating habits.

“Food insecurity impacts millions across the nation, especially college students, depriving them of the foundation needed to live healthy, thriving lives. I know firsthand that access to proper nutrition can be transformative. It’s not just about providing food – it’s about empowering individuals to reach their full potential. That’s why I’m proud to support the OIKOS Nutrition Sponsorship Program and the progress being made to combat college student hunger.”
