What We Collect and Where Do We Collect It?
Anyone may come to the site and not have to provide personal information or have a cookie set in their computer if they choose only to view the homepage and follow any links from the homepage NOT associated with the Product Directory or Bookstore. Users of the site who want to access the Oikos.com Bookstore must submit some personal information so that we can process orders. This information includes contact and address information; profession; credit card number and expiration date; and e-mail address. Users who elect to receive the Oikos News Feed must submit their email address and profession. As with most web sites, we monitor where users of the site travel throughout the site so that we can develop a better understanding of the areas of greatest interest.
How Does Oikos.com Use This Information?
a. Navigational -Our system automatically gathers information about the area of the site visited by users. To do this, Oikos.com sets a cookie in the computer of every user. We are able to use the cookies to monitor search trends. We do not use any of this navigational data on an individual basis. Nor do we share any of this data with outside companies. We do use navigational information in the aggregate to understand how our visitors use our site. We collect that information so that Oikos.com can constantly improve the site. We may also share this statistical information with our partners or other outside companies, but in doing so, we do not disclose individual names or personal navigational information.
b. Personal - When you visit Oikos.com, we will sometimes place a "cookie" on your hard drive, to allow us to keep track of the information you see on the site. This information is used in aggregate by our staff and never shared with others. Bookstore customers establish an account, which includes name, address and telephone. Credit card information is not stored in this account information. Customers must enter their credit card number each time they order. We might, from time to time, use the information provided to send you alerts about new features on Oikos.com. You can -- at any time -- "opt-out" of receiving such communication by sending an email to us at remove@oikos.com with a message that you'd like to be removed from our subscriber mailing list.
Do We Sell, Trade or Disclose Your Personal Information?
Oikos.com does not disclose, share, sell or trade any personal or individual information that it collects to third parties other than in the course of completing a transaction that you have requested or in response to an investigation involving legal matters. While we may provide information regarding site usage to third parties, such as traffic reports, this information will not include any of your personal information. We never disclose your password to anyone.

About Children
Oikos.com does not target children nor does Oikos.com expect to attract children to its site.
