Simple Analysis and Planning Procedure

This step-by-step analysis and planning procedure can help coordinate the air sealing effort, so that the sealing gets done in the appropriate places and at the most effective and convenient stage of construction. It will guide you in deciding where sealing will be required, when it should be done and who should do it. As potential leakage sites are identified, you can use the Air SealingChecklist (Appendix A) to record this information.

To complete this procedure for a specific home, you will need floor plans and section drawings of the building that indicate the building geometry and the placement of major components. An example of the completed procedure appears in Appendix C.
