Searching by Category
- The product lines of each company have been classified into a three-level hierarchy:
- Division
- Subdivision
- Category
- This system is based loosely on the Construction Specifications Institute's Masterformat, which is used by many architects and specifiers. The five digit CSI number appears in parentheses after the category name. We have tried to classify products by commonly used names, which are often more specific than CSI categories. That means several categories in REDI may have the same CSI number. For example, CSI has a category for Plumbing Fixtures, but REDI identifies Low Flow Showerheads, Low Flush Toilets and Graywater Recycling Systems. These more specific categories help you find the right companies more quickly.
Searching By Topic
- Type one or more words to search the database by topic. For example, type "heat pump" or "ground source heat pump," "lumber" or "plastic lumber" or "reclaimed lumber." If you don't find the type of products you're looking for, we may just call it by a different name. Try a Category search to learn more about our classification system. Searching by topic is really the same as searching by category.
Searching by Company
- You can find a particular company by typing in its name. Or find only those companies whose main office is in a certain location by typing in a city, state or postal code. This search is independent of the topic search. Currently there is no way to limit a topic search by a geographic area.
