With Carrier's new Comfort Zone II residential zoning for forced-air heating and cooling systems contractors can create up to eight zones. This allows better temperature control of specific areas, such as home offices, guest rooms and basements. The main control is modeled after Carrier's line of electronic thermostats and uses standard thermostat wire. Dealers can customize a comfort schedule to suit the home owners and monitor the system during installation using the special software. The control has several easy-to-use features, such as a "Copy" function that duplicates a selected program, a "Clean Filter" reminder and an "Outdoor Temperature" display. Energy saving setup/setback strategies are built into the control. Wireless remote sensors will be available as an option.
