CFL With a New Twist

Spiral-Lite

Litetronics' Spiral-Lite is an electronically ballasted lamp that provides up to an 80 percent energy savings over incandescents. The 23-watt Spiral-Lite produces 70 lumens per watt and has a unique open-coiled shape that allows for maximum axial and radial light distribution. That means less light is trapped. The lamp is coated with tri-phosphors, giving it a color rendering index (CRI) of 85. According to the manufacturer, the lamp's physical shape and size more closely resemble an A-line incandescent than any other CFL on the market. Spiral-Lite is available in 9-, 11-, 15-, 20-, and 23-watt versions. The 23-watt lamp is less than 6 inches high. These lamps have a rated life of 10,000 hours, more than 10 times the life of an incandescent.
